I’m always a bit flummoxed when people seem to know for sure what is right and what is wrong. I believe that the closer we look at morality the less clear the issues become. What of it is hardwired, what is cultural, which part is education? Can our responses be changed? What is the difference between our response in the laboratory, as it were, and our actions in the field?
The trolley problem has supplied us with a large crowbar to get to the core of the issue.
Worth reading, as an opener into the field.
