I have to laugh each time Lamarck rears his ugly head.
What is interesting from the viewpoint of a Buddhist is: who are we then? How much responsibility do we bear for ourselves? How much can be changed? If you know that your character is pretty much fixed with 5 years of age,that most of “yourself” is determined by Genes, environment, what your mother ate during her pregnancy, and now, more and more clearly: By what your GRANDPARENTS did, thought, suffered… Who are we? And more importantly: Why do we keep blaming ourselves and others for what we inevitably are?
