Hmmm, I considered that guy to be a fraud ever since I watched one of his “Big Mind” Videos on youtube… only seen about 5 minutes, was all I could endure without kicking the computer. (so now he can call it 5-5-50-5… 5 ppl 5 days US$50000 5 min that Armin can stand him)
I REALLY hope his career is finished now. But we all know how it goes, there are enough gullible ppl. out there that will hang on to him, no matter what.
What baffles me is: by what kind of screwed up process does someone like this become a teacher?
There seems to be a general idea that if you go through your 500 Koan, or what-ever the school prescribes, you are fit to be a leader, a teacher, a Roshi.
The more I see of ppl. that HAVE done this, the less I believe it. I know many great teachers, whose personality is ripened and enhanced by the Koan process. And I know quite a few obviously immature guys and gals out there, that got no business teaching others but carry the title Roshi.

Sorry, my belief in the Koan process as a guarantor of “enlightenment” (what-ever THAT is) is severly shaken.

About Armin

Hermit, free-lance monk, laughing pessimist, hopeless optimist, standing upright after being bowled over too often, crawling when he should fly and flying without a pilot's licence. Clinging to bushes and grasses in his free time.
