About Armin

Hermit, free-lance monk, laughing pessimist, hopeless optimist, standing upright after being bowled over too often, crawling when he should fly and flying without a pilot's licence. Clinging to bushes and grasses in his free time.

One Response to No Mean Preacher | Tricycle

Well, yes… This is a write-up on Aitken-Roshi’s last interview, touching on the Shimano issue.
The old man was very kind to this greenhorn, but it seems he will take a few more years to appreciate it.
A little sad that the last interview was conducted by someone who has very little understanding of what he is writing about. That he felt attacked and is reacting to it is quite obvious throughout the article. In a sense, this is not an article on Aitken-Roshi, it is an article that mostly speaks about the interviewer.

Can I take this opportunity to point out that I feel that Roshi carried the Shimano-Bomb with him for 40 years, and decided to drop it before it was too late.
He certainly had his reasons for keeping mum all these years and they have been touched upon in other places: Loyalty to Soen-Roshi probably the foremost.

With all deep respect to my old teacher: I vow to speak up earlier, burn my mouth and be castigated, and not let a crook and a scoundrel do damage that I might prevent.

With a bow to the ashes of Aitken-Roshi
    Armin
